Richard A. Jurczyk, Senior Vice President – Claims and General Counsel

Mr. Jurczyk joined Apex in 2001 and has a significant investment in the company.  Previously, he served for four years as Assistant Vice President of Claims at Monitor Liability Managers, a member of the W.R. Berkley Group, where he handled various classes of professional liability insurance claims.  Prior to Monitor, Mr. Jurczyk spent two years as a Law Clerk for a State of Illinois Supreme Court Justice and three years as a Law Clerk for a Cook County, Illinois Circuit Court Judge.  During his service with the court, Mr. Jurczyk was involved in the drafting of several judicial opinions with significant impact on insurance law in the State of Illinois and nationally.  Mr. Jurczyk’s experience also includes tenure at the Defense Research Institute, a preeminent national organization for defense, insurance and corporate counsel, where he authored numerous articles on insurance coverage.
